Workpackage description

The aim of the group is to improve the application of the ecosystem services concept to provide sustainable development of urban areas under the global change by bringing together specialists from different fields of expertise and knowledge. We focus on three important for urban ecosystem services (UES) topics:

  • Theory: justification of the ecosystem services indicators, specific to urban areas, their spatio-temporal distribution and hierarchy, and influencing factors.
  • Methods: new tools and technologies for mapping, monitoring, and modeling UES.
  • Application: ways and fruitful practices of UES implementation to urban spatial planning, especially with citizen science.
