Education
A Joint degree program between Tuscia University & RUDN University
The purpose of the program is the training of qualified personnel in the direction of design, implementation and sustainable management urban green infrastructure. The disciplines of the program allow to obtain theoretical knowledge and practical skills both in landscape design and architecture as well as in environmental monitoring, assessment, modeling and maintenance of urban ecosystems and their components. The format of the program is in accordance with Russian and international educational standards and are adequate to the current market requirements.
July 18-22, 2022, Registration is open
The 3MUGIS summer school provides students with first hand field experience examining anthropogenic impact sequences across conventional soil forming factors from Subartic to Subtropical climates. At the end of the program, students will better understand the social, climactic, and geographic factors that contribute to human soil modification in this region; the long-term implications of such changes; practical skills to perform in-field soil monitoring, soil mapping and remote sensing; and applied skills in identifying, implementing, and managing opportunities for urban green infrastructure development.
Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC)
Modeling urban ecosystems
Course Outcomes
- Course aims to provide a solid theoretical background and master skills in investigating and modeling urban ecosystems and their components with consideration of the spatial heterogeneity, temporal dynamics and anthropogenic effects.
- An overview of modeling as a tool and models applicable for urban environment
- Deep understanding of the structure of urban ecosystems
- Basic skills in statistical modeling
- Basic skills in GIS and spatial modeling
- Experience in particular models applied for urban ecosystems (e.g., Eddy Pro, HYDRUS and i-tree)
